The Morris County Clean Communities Coordinator oversees the county Clean Communities program, and is a point of contact between the county municipalities and the state.

Morris County Clean Communities Coordinator: Michelle Chavanne, (973)-285-8395, mchavanne@co.morris.nj.us

Following the guidelines of this program, each municipality must hire a Clean Communities Coordinator (CCC) at the start of each grant period to act as the main point of contact between the municipality, and the Clean Communities Council and County Clean Communities Coordinator.

The CCC oversees the implementation of a comprehensive program that includes litter abatement, education, and enforcement within their municipalities while following grant guidelines (available under ‘additional resources’).

Additional requirements include submitting your annual statistical report, attending all Count Clean Community meetings, and attending Clean Communities Council meetings and workshops. More details can be found under the ‘CCC Handbook.’

One of the main responsibilities for a CCC is to track all program expenses and report it at the end of a grant year in a Statistical Report. This report is due by July 31st and can be found at Statistical Report | New Jersey Clean Communities.

Tips to successfully fill out your Statistical Report include:

  • At the beginning of grant period, determine grant budget at Grant Funding | New Jersey Clean Communities
  • Determine allowed costs within budget of following spending caps
  • Create a Grant Tracker in excel or a similar program to log all expenses
  • Categorize excel into necessary categories and subcategories for ease when filling out the report

Additional help can be found in the Statistical Report Guide.
